For a long time, in the hills of southern Piedmont, the Dolcetto vine has represented a sort of “bread tree” for the vintners who devote themselves to it with passion and dedication.
These, over the years, have wisely selected the ideal environments on the hills around Dogliani to give birth to a wine with characteristics all its own and of great quality. In fact, this southern part of the Langa, is a high and cool area because it benefits from its proximity to the Ligurian Apennines and the Maritime Alps, all of which contribute to the most congenial climate for the Dolcetto, a vine variety that suffers from excessive heat and retains its delicate aromas only in a particular balance of temperatures.
The members’ various areas under vine are located in the territories of the municipalities of Dogliani, Farigliano, Belvedere Langhe, Briaglia, and Bastia, all areas included in the “Dogliani” DOCG specification, in the Langa Doglianese, where layers of sandstone alternate, intermixed with more markedly clayey soils.
The winery boasts some of Piedmont’s finest appellations, including DOCG Dogliani-from the territory of the same name-and DOC Langhe Dolcetto, Barbera d’Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, and Piemonte Barbera.
